Regarding the trespass issue, this clip taken on the Coalville branch shows two photographers inside the crossing barriers and not really doing any favours to those who do act responsibly:

It had a few gallons of water in it! And a pump to get the water into the Panniers.

There was a fair bit of trespass, but much of it was clearly locals who don't necessarily have the "rules" drilled into them like those on here. There are also several locations on the Leics-Burton line that aren't fenced and you can walk straight up to the line without knowing at what point it becomes trespass. It's hardly a 100mph mainline, so I presume Network Rail don't consider it much of a risk. I did see people wrong side, but didn't personally see anyone who was particularly putting themselves in danger, although the older gent in the crossing pic above looks to be verging on being a bit close. As for the person highlighted with yellow/red rings above who looks to be standing at an old station, I really don't see that he's putting himself in danger; he might even be the owner of the old station?

Brilliant. Impresses me just as much as a 'big' loco on the mainline, maybe more as we are so used to seeing tanks only on preserved branch lines. Now then, with 2 of them on the main and being able to top 'n' tail, what new ground awaits I wonder?!!

Those two circled look almost certain to have connection to the house and presumably every right to wander about on that stretch of grass.

Another memorable trip with VT. My school was close to L.T. + I saw the mid-morning Lillle Bridge freight maybe twice a week. 42yrs later a trip behind one of them!!! Interesting to see that so many people booked on such a specialised tour.
Highlights were excellent running/on board excitment/unusual route/stopping in Leicester Station.
Once again, thanks to the VT team arranging a special that especially appealed to bashers/enthusiasts.
BTW I saw no lineside trespass that made me gulp unlike some of the ECML sights of the last few yrs.....

You have hit the nail on the head there Ray, very rare outing of a couple of unusual locos for a main line passenger jaunt. I'll bet VT would be able to run many of them before the support wanes. A few more on there local territory before moving further afield to give more of us a chance to see and travel. Crewe, Shrewsbury, Chester, Altrincham then back to Northwich and Sandbach to Crewe. Get them to Crewe for the summer and run that route in alternate directions for say 4 weekends on the trot.

what side of the fence were the photographers pictures taken from ?
It looks like the line of the fence on the first one at the right hand side.
and the second on it looks a bit suspicious which side of the barrier the photographer is.. you can see the barrier ?

The ringed people, as far as I could tell had no connection with the house. Two of them walked from their car from the level crossing onto the grass.

I personally had no problem with the other two or my position, it was the guy behind the box that puzzled me. A police car (same guy) passed us 3 times and had no worries.

Great to see these two fine loco's on the mainline again. I hope more tours will operate with them in the future. Pleased to see it had sold out - well done to all involved.
