Thought not. Could be a bit chilly on the train between Brum and Bristol unless the 47 is on the back to provide heating.

Seems to suggest the 20s do the support run as 0z24 is booked to go onto the front of the train at BTM

According to a report on Facebook, 47773 is replacing the two 20s.

20skiddy.jpg 20s ready to leave Severn Valley for Tyseley. Maybe the 47 will be on back for heating the train to Bristol East Depot.

    Screen shot for Rail cam.

Glad to see that seemed to just be wibble then. In the recent information VT sent out it also mentions the 20s so I believe that over someone on FaceAche.

    Hi all

I've read the comments. These are the facts:

    * the train is fully booked with just shy of 500 passengers, requiring our whole operating fleet of carriages: eleven + support coach
    * we are not taking the water carrier as the train (with diesel support) would be too long for Plymouth depots
    * the train will be turned once so Tourist will get one way behind steam
    * timings are tricky and the only ones available, so not much platform time, sorry
    * bring a pullover as steam heating only
    * diesels will shadow the train BTM-PLY-BTM for resilience and shunting
    * enjoy the day!

Thank you Michael as always for the updates. :) Really looking forward to this, my first Vintage Trains railtour since 7029 and 6233 tackled the Lickey on separate workings.

Thank you Michael for the update, and thank you of course to all at Tyseley for organising such an epic day out as this. It can't have been easy and we all appreciate it. It should be a really great day with two of the GWR's finest. Will be boarding at Worcestershire Parkway tomorrow.

I hope you mean that Tourist (and everyone else) will get steam each way (from Bristol) but we will be directly behind the Castles one way only! :)

I'm confused. 5Z22 appears to be the whole train turning on the Laira triangle, but that would seem to mean the same coaches being at the front both from and to Bristol.

The light engine steam move was fortunate to get through to Bristol in time. The line is now closed between Swindon and Didcot until 15:15. Sadly, due to a fatality. [BJ]

Hoping Michael Whitehouse means the train will be reversed and not turned …otherwise the same end leads both ways …and the 20s matter as much as the castles ..

As far as what I got told, Dining will be at the front to Bristol East, Tourist would then be at the front for the bit to Plymouth, then it will reverse so Dining would then become at the front for the return journey. But dont shoot the messenger just incase it isnt fully 100%

The Tourist coaches will lead to Bristol East Depot and then Pullman will lead to Plymouth.

On the return, Tourist will lead all the way back to New Street.

Well that's fair. Everyone gets to be (fairly) close to the Castles for one direction. So it's pot luck whether you get the sea wall view each way or the mileposts.
