    Sadly, because VT doesn't allow people to hang out of windows, there was no chance of me being able to take a shot of a windswept, bedraggled photographer balancing on the edge of the bridge for which you deserve a medal and a cup of hot soup. But despite the rubbish conditions you produce a master shot. Well done.

    I can only comment on the northbound run with 5043 today as I bailed out at York, but I have to say that, once again, Vintage Trains has delivered 'what it says on the tin'. Magical running, efficiently driven by both 'Rays'........and pure steam.

    Brilliant trip Bob on Saturday. Worth the early morning drive from Hampshire to Coleshill. Let's face it. There's no proper steam on the main line down south currently!
