I'm in coach H, seat 9B. The wonders of the modern railway and especially the ticketing system mean I have a 5.45am departure from the house and a return of around 1am...

Anyway looking forward to meeting up with a few of you on this, Neil.

You perhaps should have driven to somewhere on the Liverpool - Crewe line, I'm out of Hartford at 7.02 and back there, after bailing out at New Street, 21.19.

Thanks Ralph, I will look into the New St bit as the problem is with the return to Tyseley is where it adds a lot of time with connections and a possible extra £35odd for an earlier train if we are back at Tyseley 5 mins earlier than booked....

Neil, off to be baffled again by the ticket system...

For anyone doing the full trip back to Tyseley, my offer of a lift into Birmingham is still available. 3 places left. Let me know here or see me on the day (coach H seat 4F).
    Alan.

Alan, it appears the getting to New Street problem has disappeared. Looks like I'm in H now, so will meet up.

I was originally going back to Tyseley, but when the stop at New Street was announced, it seemed best to bail there and get the direct LM home, the mileage lost is minimal.

I will be sitting opposite you. I have a later departure since I am staying in a Premier Inn just off the M42, and should hopefully get back home to West Sussex by 11pm

I hope that there will be some flexibility in our coach allowing those who booked at different time to sit together or apart? if they want.

Unfortunately, I cant make this tour to ride on, but will be in the south Birmingham area around 7 on Saturday. Does anyone what the plan is regarding New Street? Surely the Panniers wont be taking the direct route through Five Ways and the tunnels? This would suggest 'the back way' using the Camp Hill line, but then the locos would be facing the wrong way, and a nine minute run round sounds tight which leads me to believe this is not the plan.

You must have different timings to the UK Steam ones Ralph which showed onto the Mainline at Tyseley at 9.48, caught me well off guard at Yardley Wood and only got a going away shot as a result.
