The substitution has coincided with the release of the timings, so there may be a pathing issue? 48151 is limited to 50 mph whereas 34067 is 75mph. Or perhaps there's a bridge restriction somewhere - being a 3-cylinder loco with relatively large wheels, Tangmere is easier on the structures than the 2-cyl 8F. Or perhaps Tangmere can be serviced more quickly/easily between the day-time and evening runs?

I have to echo your comment Steve, thanks for the info green five and the original query from Alberta 45562 I think. Some great images and video posted from everyone too. Huge crowds out for this at both Aldershot and Camberley.

Image below shows the approach into Camberley, from my spot I could see one of the crew lean out of the cab and heard him exclaim 'Look at the platform!' Also evident in that view is the formidable incline that starts right after the station. Sound clip as well below with a couple of minutes on the 1/60 out of Camberley. The sound file is near max upload size at around 2Mb so only at 112kbs but should still sound ok with some volume through headphones.

Nice sound recording David, you should add it onto my vid from opposite you ;)

Had a superb day yesterday, one of my favourite tours for a long time, the sound of the 8F climbing up to Camberley and then after the station is something to remember,8mph was our minimum speed I believe.

Thanks to all for a great day out.

I am in the process of uploading a full days vid but here are the two highlights.

The 9minute slog of Camberley bank:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l23zxlLcxI0&feature=channel_video_title

And another 9 minute roar, this time on Sole Street.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4ceQDWJHwo&feature=channel_video_title

Thanks to Alan "Martin" Woods for bringing my camera from the back coach where I had left it (doh!) and also for lending me some goggles as mine were left in West Yorkshire (Double doh!)

    Cheers,
    Mark

Do you know Mark I knew you were on the train and wondered if that might be you! Enjoyed watching the video, thanks for posting it. Not sure why the speed restriction at the foot of the bank? Overall though hugely impressed with this loco, anyone know the names of the crew for this trip?

Nice video and sound at Camberley Alberta - looks like some serious foliage trimming needed before the station! DH

Some cracking pics and vids from Sundays tour. Love the recordings Mark, you definitely got your moneys worth on that tour mate!!

Please see my pic at sole street bank in the evening of the 8F. God only knows how i didnt fall off the top of a fence leaning against a tree, but was well worth the journey even to just hear the loco powering away in the distance after 5 mins of passing us. I sure hope they bring it down south for more tours.

Many thanks to David for the Camberley sound clip and to Mark for the vids, lovely soundtracks.
She has always been a strong and entertaining engine and she certainly showed it on Sunday.

Great videos and pictures of Sunday's superb run. Unfortunately the 8F suffered a bearing problem which meant she had to miss todays trips. Going by the timings for todays lunchtime run (which 34067 had a little trouble keeping to) it makes me wonder whether 48151 would have appeared today anyway if she had been fit.

Me and friends enjoyed your videos,Mark.
Great achievement especially hanging out of the window all this way.10/10.
Also shows what this 8F can do-the owners must be proud..a classic of it's kind. The sound says it all.
Pity it couldn't stay around..if no one has seen this beauty then catch a glimpse whenever you can or even travel behind it at speed.
    Once again,Mark..top marks.

Thanks for the kind comment :)

@Ralph,it takes about 20-30 mins to render and about 3-4 hours to upload. Left on overnight :)

Edit:The reason it is relativley short time wise is because I stopped using HD last year, otherwise I'd be looking at close to 10 hours for the completed and on YT product. Possibly more.

    Cheers,
    Mark
