Saw a clip of 34027 departing Brad Ex and it was load 8. Failed on the first attempt and got a shove from a Shed on the second attempt.

Back in the day a shove from a Fairburn tank was a fairly regular occurrence...

My last exit from Bradford Exchange was in 1966 on the 1710 to Kings Cross. 42055 was up the front of three coaches and running tender first. As a Southerner up north I had no sense of the 1 in 50 up to Mill Lane Junction but remember thinking at the time that the Fairburn was puffing a bit. Now I know why!

    This one?

Probably the addition of the tender which pushed the tank over its limits? ;)

I suspect it was the embarrassment of a Bulleid appearing in red livery that did it.

Due to it having a Bunker and not a Tender! :D;)

Of course - silly me. Detail, detail. What does it matter? Next thing you'll be telling me that I can't call a double chimney Jubilee a real Jubilee......:D

Lord Voldemort cast a slipping spell (slipperus humongous stallus) over 34027 on this occasion. He is not a big fan of Bulleid Pacific loco's apparently. He prefers GWR Hall Class loco's
