Yes I am an active volunteer
1.. If you reply to a story, keep it on topic! Tell the writer what you thought of
the story, or a comment about the story. Off topic comments are likely to be
removed. Remember this section is for longer stories not for general chat. Other
    sections are for questions/chat/comments etc.
2.. Keep a follow on story about the same general subject. If the thread topic is
"BODMIN" and the story is about 34016 BODMIN the locomotive, don't post a follow
on story about the Bodmin and Wenford!
3.. If you CAN find a thread heading that relates to YOUR story, post it under the
same heading, instead of starting a new thread. Remember an old thread will move
to the top when a new story is written.
4.. Don't post a story under a thread called "Basingstoke", (as an example) if it
just starts in Basingstoke, but all the action is in Birmingham!
5.. Nat-Pres is not a forum for fiction. The whole reason for this section is to
preserve anecdotes that show how the railways, National and Preserved, are or were
built up from the point of view of the men and women that did, or still do, the
work to run them, be they management or otherwise. Both are equally important
here. Please keep your stories TRUE.
Finally, a few words of warning. Some stories may embarrass people you work with.
Take care; you will have to work with them again! If what you say could cause hurt
to someone, it would protect you if you told them before you post that you are going
to publish the story, and gain their permission to do so.

Beware the laws of LIBEL. If you are unsure that the story may be libelous, read
the law. A good reference can be found at http://www.urban75.com/Action/libel.html
Moderators at Nat-Pres WILL be watching, and if we are unsure that a story could
contravene the law, it will be removed, and stored, until we can satisfy ourselves
that the story is above reproach, at which time it will be re-posted. This is for all
    of our protection.

Send us YOUR TRUE tales. The world is waiting to hear from you!
