Which raises the REAL question - who will be the West Coast santa handing out the goodies ?

Not sure where he gets the info from but UKsteam.info is now also showing these up as being hauled by either 45690/45699.

Thing is in light of the very close relationship between Leander and WCRC is it any different to their using an owned locomotive?

I understand that the loading for these trains will be 12 so I would guess that whatever is on the front, there will most likely be a heating unit on the back....

I don't mind what the loco is as long as its not 'trimmed up' & has a silly head board.

I reckon that's what it could be, and that's why I have opted against going out for it. At the end of the day it's for children and families.

Actually no it is not just for children and families. Half of the train is Christmas Dining so a fair few adults and amongst them some enthusiast out for a Christmas Lunch that encompasses their hobby into the bargain. But if it is made up to look like a Christmas Train, who can argue. All on board are there for Christmas Spirit.

48151 is one of the most sure footed of the WC stable. On a day of excellent weather and with a load she has taken on the Dalesman, why the need to the assistance on this undemanding route? Is it that she is not "right" yet?
