Just got back from this trip which I have to say turned out to be unforgettable, not least for the weather which defies any description from me. Thanks to all in standard for a chins up, muck in and have a great time attitude no matter what. Being seved braised steak and veg at our tables in the the midst of a biblical weather event does not happen very often!

I heard they found a leak in the firebox, so took no chances. As for replacing bits on 46115 with bits from Galatea, It is being mentioned one part which should be standard came up half an inch short or so!

I read on IR's forum that 45407 had a problem with the grate at some stage during the weekend, but he was hoping to fix it overnight. Don't know whether 44932 had a similar problem, too?

45407 was I believe having the brick arch repaired or rebuilt.

Here is a brief clip of our climb alongside the Monessie Gorge a few miles out of Fort William.

If you had to come up with a perfect location to illustrate steam travel through the West Highlands, wouldn't this be it? (Apart perhaps from the Harry Potter viaduct!)
