It seems the forecast of rain is quite widespread: Taunton, Kidderminster, York...oh well...

Realtime Trains indicates that the 'West Somerset Explorer' departed Kidderminster 11 (12?) mins early at 08:45.
    Kidderminster [KID] 0857 (dep 0845 11E)

Steady rain in the Bristol area at present. A complete contrast to last weekend's railtour from Bristol with 'Braunton'.

Rain, sleet or snow, I'll be out to film the A4 today. <BJ>

There was an error in the TRUST report and she left on time. Currently just leaving Droitwich Spa I imagine.

Have fun! I'll look forward to your films. Here in rural NW Gloucestershire, it's raining and foggy into the bargain, so I'm staying at home unless things improve dramatically in the next hour.

I was also thinking about contrast between today and last Saturday. I was on the run with Braunton, and I'm very pleased that my wife and I enjoyed four hours of Worcester in pleasant sunshine. It wouldn't have been very enjoyable walking round the city in heavy rain. So far, amazingly, whenever I've booked on a main line steam run, it has been dry (or just the odd shower) on arrival at our destination.

Obviously RTT has now corrected it's actual departure time.
As Neil has pointed out there was an error in the TRUST report<BJ>

I am not sure there was an error, I am sure I saw the report it had left and my PC clock was not yet 8.57. Also you posted it leaving early at 8.48. All a bit odd

TRUST showed it leaving Kidder at 0845 and going via Hagley. This was corrected and it left on time.

With a pick up dep time of 08:57 at Kidderminster I can't imagine the train being allowed to leave 11-12 mins early without it's passengers. <BJ>

The conection from Bridgnorth would have arived at 7.57, presumably with the bulk of the passengers. If all counted in and on train no reason not to go early. If all my passengers on tonights SVR conection are accounted for I can leave when all boarded. I will be making stringent checks to make sure they are.

Will you please note the specific post I am replying to, not a previous post. The subject I was replying to was "Can an excursion train leave before booked time if all booked passengers are present and correct". This is a separate issue to did it leave early or not.

Seen purring away at Standish Junction in the rain, worth getting wet for.

So do you think an accurate head count can be made when you have a train with some 300+ people on board, I can tell you there is no chance, to many moving about. Also despite giving their boarding point when booking, you would be surprised how many change their minds and get on somewhere else.
No charter operator is ever going to leave a pickup station early.
