Any reason why flying scotman is coming off at minehead on May 23rd next year? Railtour from Bristol. Stabling on the WSR or going somewhere else.

Can't wait to see it on the WSR....

I suspect it is staying at Minehead for a while.

Did Galatea haul the return journey to London or was the diesel used? TIA

Thanks Ian. Do you know why? I have heard on the grapevine that some passengers were not pleased.

Someone suggested the following on the 'What's Going On'/'West Somerset Steam Express 2016' thread (message #123):

I think 45699 might be out of gauge in the up direction on the B&H via Newbury hence why it has had to return via Bristol engine & POB. Full marks to the guys at West Coast and NR charter team for coming up with another short notice solution, which whilst not perfect, has at least allowed the train to run with 45699 on a route it has not done before. All down to shortage of available locomotives again I suppose.

Anyone able to supply a roster rather than just diesel/steam for the late summer weekend, please?

May persuade me to have a weekend in Somerset rather than Shropshire despite diesels generally passing at Williton every time.

According to http://www.depg.org/Loco_Running_Dates.html it's D1010 and D7017, but allocations to which trains are not yet published. Likewise steam will be whatever is in use from the homefleet at the time.

I'm aware of that but also how many times the DEPG roster changes(14 for two days last weekend and next?) and that some think of the DMU as a diesel. Until a proper roster is available suggesting at which end of the line I should stay at for 1010 then no accommodation will be booked, and it may be SVR will get my custom as they are able to allocate 1062,55019 to trains will several weeks notice.

It will be the two rostered locos unless something goes wrong with one of them.
It will not be the 33 or 47 because they were used for last years Late Summer Weekend. (that was the plan) unless something fails!
Probably will not know which loco on which train until the ops notice comes out on the Wednesday before!
The DMU is also running as well, Saturday it is booked on some shuttles during the day (not 100% sure on where to/from Bl) and the 18.00 xBL and 19.45 xMD.
Sunday the DMU is booked for a shuttle then the 13.45 bl - wn and 14.33 wn -bl and then a shuttle. Possibly Stogumber shuttles but not 100% sure.
Sorry I cant give any more info, thats all that is available at the moment.

@D7076 you should have been at the WSR last Saturday. D1010 on the service train with the 2 hymeks in the yard running.
18 was being tested up and down the yard.

I'll post some video when I'm back home.
