When will the timetable for the Winter Steam Festival be out? Also what locos will used?

  6. My understanding is that the timetable will be same as used in the 2015 event, but that's not confirmed. Locos are likely to be 6960, 4F and 2x7Fs but nothing confirmed. I'm sure the Plc will announce/confirm things soon.

Just to let you know, if you are planning to come this weekend there is a badly organised and signposted road closure between Glastonbury & Street on the A39

Whats the plan for 5542 on Sunday, the roster shows her as QB & starts at Lydeyard.

Do I take it that she isn't hauling a public train?

    Sorry, but it says

    Sun 30 Oct 2016
    GWR 2-6-2T no 5542
    Diagram starts at Bishops Lydeard
    LMS 0-6-0 no 44422
    Diagram starts at Minehead
    GWR 2-6-2T no 5542
    The Quantock Belle Dining Train
    SDJR 2-8-0 no 53808
    The Quantock Belle Dining Train
    SDJR 2-8-0 no 53808
    Diagram starts at Bishops Lydeard

So if someone could please clarify as 53808 & 5542 are both doing the QB and starting at BL ...............................

Either that or its a very heavily loaded QB!

There is a loco swap and LE move planned sometime during the day but that's all the detail I have. What I do know is that the 30th is the last planned day for 5542 on the WSR.

As I understand it, 5542 works the 1025 BL, 1230 MD, 1435 BL then 1710 MD QB. 53808 double-heads 44422 on the 1015 MD then works the 1300 BL QB and 1620 MD, followed by 1755 BL ECS.

  16. Sorry @johnofwessex but I couldn't present the loco swop very well on the loco roster page (the perl script pulls info from a structured file before rendering as a webpage) so big thanks to @Ian Monkton and @aldfort for explaining all here.
