Normally, I would turn my back on any railway so riven by squabbling, but the WSR is too important to give up on. I am not optimistic, but wish the best for those who want to reopen this splendid line.

Yes, the next level is FUBAR, F'ed Up Beyond All Recognition.
Followed by TARFU- Totally And Royally F'ed Up

By the by- Is the PLC's "standby to repel boarders" statement the origin of the idea that RMW and co. are intending to force a union between the WSSRT and the WSRA to the detriment of all? Clearly I have heard that 14 brave souls have put themselves forward, but I've not seen a manifesto stating that they intend any particular future for the WSSRT, and I am now puzzled that the plc's supporters are declaiming a course of action that the gallant 14 have not mentioned.
    Have I missed something?

Damage to some posters reputations is not very consequential, when compared to the problem that unfounded suppositions about what's really going on, or about the motivation for various actions, get in the way of productive consideration of how to deal with the WSR's manifold serious problems.

If, Mr Sidmouth, you are referring to FoWSR you are about 100% WRONG if you are not referring to FoWSR who are you talking about?

He is referring to a Facebook group only Ken, nothing to do with the FOWSR.

It is strange. Some people come onto this thread and demand that it be closed down, decrying that it damages the reputation of the WSR. And yet there is no problem with such things being posted on Facebook. Including on their own Facebook page.

I know. Having it on private Facebook groups is one thing, but to put it on the WSR's main Facebook page along with all the comments from certain people that ensued was the equivilant of having the row on a crowded Minehead platform. Juxtaposed with the post above it asking for money made it look particularly poor.

I was aware of all this back in the second week of March this year - indeed I suggested it to 3 then - 2 by phone.

The WSSRT (with a very small membership) throws considerable weight due to it's significant shareholding in the WSR PLC.

We have Steve Williams now on the WSR PLC board as the WSSRT trustee rep.

Still no WSRA rep on the WSR PLC board.

Deleted. Extremely distasteful link I'd shared without thinking that has thankfully been closed

@granmaree I'd be careful about sharing that, even though it's closed. I think publicising potentially libelous material could still be a bit off.

Um no. Steve is NOT the WSSRT rep on the plc board. We have never been asked to nominate a rep. He is an individual who happens to have a position on both boards. This is a very important distinction.

Ah right, didn't think of that. It really needs wiping right off the internet.

Indeed. I spotted it last night, it was closed this morning, the originator said they thought better of it (although I understand it was actually closed down by Change.org themselves for bullying and harassment), butcouldn't quite see that if it was potentially libellous then perhaps it didn't have much basis in fact rather than just "I don't want to get sued"!

    Hello Ian,

Not sure I follow your reasoning there.

I could say a lot more, but will keep quiet for now.

I just hope that all this has an effect on the Notice to Quit over the SDRT at Washford. It ought to, I hope and trust.

    Cheers,

    Julian
