........... which is true for all of the coaching stock, including the yet-to-be-restored fleet.
& if it were feasible, the goods stock as well.

The latest WSR PLC stake holders meeting.

    http://wsr.org.uk/stakeholderfeb2017.pdf

A couple of important points is that there is a three lock agreement over the sale of the freehold of the track bed from the SCC and now have to be agreed by the PDG, HRA and ORR before it can take place. Also looking the WSRA want to do something similar for the Norton land. So it looks like lessons have been learnt over that failed attempt to acquire the freehold of the track bed a few years ago.

Other things is 3839 more people were carried in 2016 against 2015, but the Galas didn't do so well with a shortfall but the SEC did better, with a small overall profit showing.

The great thing about railways is the diversity of interests that can be drawn in / require to be satisfied to make the whole work.

My 'passion' is railway operations, so timetables, timetabling, signalling etc etc. I never was 'into' locomotives, so I have never owned a share in one, nor do I aspire to. However, without the folks who DO have that interest (and all the others), we would not have a railway to operate or be able to attract the public. That 'working together' is one of the best aspects of railway heritage.

Not at all, but a small way for me to make a contribution to our wonderful Railway that runs at the bottom of my garden.

Anything involving SCC should carry a health warning though as a new Council will be elected in May.

A reminder to get your Southern Gateway consultation responses in. Responses need to be written and can be sent to:

The plc Planning Director at:- williams@oakevillage.wanadoo.co.uk
or to the WSRA at:- southerngateway@wsra.org.uk (please indicate if you are a member in your reply)

The WSRA will produce a consolidated report for the Project Board taking all inputs received into account.

However you choose to make your written response ensure that you have your say.

I managed both on the same day last year. I took the first DMU shuttle to Norton, spent a couple of hours at the rally, then a lunch-time train to MD with plenty of time for the model railway exhibition before catching the 1620 back to BL.

It's good to have the Minehead station cam back on line again, even with nothing moving yet.

The Crowcombe Heathfield cam is also back to the usual setting, after someone spent a few minutes rotating the view this morning. Quite interesting.

Quite a gale blowing in Somerset, I see.

Or even easier for anyone with a car! (not that I'm suggesting boycotting the WSR trains!)

Where is it ? It has disappeared from my wsr.org - pictures menu on google - only Crowcombe shown and working. Still no BL..

  17. Sorry folks. I was a bit hasty returning the Minehead webcam to the website but it will be back on 9 March.

As I understand things, the situation at Lydeard is still be discussed and we're unlikely to see a return for some time although there are options for the short-term being looked at.

    My back-of-a-beer-mat chicken-scratchings have revealed:

To store 60 or so carriages needs approximately very nearly almost about 3/4 a mile of track & 1/2 an acre of land, at least, plus workshops & paint-shops & leads & traversers & head-shunts etc etc..
So in general terms, think of three or four Swindon Sheds.
