Great day out on the WSR yesterday, my first firing turn of the year. Lot's of happy smiley faces and some great craic as the Irish would say. Had Odney, who I think is my current favourite. Thank goodness enough has been done at tribble to keep the line open. Do dig deep for the WSRA appeal though, still much to be done.

It would be nice if we could keep this thread for actual happenings on the WSR don't you think?

Post 43486 on page 2175… I suspect that may not be realistic. ;)

Isn’t what’s happening at the moment something to do with events on the WSR?

You know for the life of me I don't know why I bother sometimes!

Not trying to stir the pot, and yes I know there’s a whole other thread for it, but do you not think there’s inevitably going to be a bit of a crossover on threads and not necessarily just those concerning goings on at the WSR?

Loco allocations will be released on the website for free no later than a week before the Gala.

Before then a hint, the loco is planned to be based from Minehead on Friday morning and Bishops Lydeard the other three mornings.

Seems to have performed OK at the East Lancs? Only failure has been a broken spring? Whilst I know your comment was tongue in cheek, this loco does seem to get a fair bit of stick - how much is the loco and how much is crew familiarity? There is no doubt it has a few unusual characteristics!
Think I read somewhere that some of these engines turn up on hire with just half a sheet of A4 of instructions..

...but it's a loco we have not run before.
Let's just hope for fine weather. Nowhere to hide from the rain on a GWR loco almost irrespective of which way around you are.
On the first Friday of the gala I have to book on at 05.00. Lucky me! This is what committed volunteers do so that we can try and put on a good show for the punters.
