    Thanks the S&DJR 7F is an engine I'm not entirely fussed about, as it has toured and been on the Moors before, however it might be nice, seeing it in an area more akin to the much frothed joint railway territory. The rest of the Western fleet might be nice to see if I'm down and lucky. Who knows...

    No, it is the railway that has been "double booked" not the loco so it won't be running.
    Amongst other things I understand there will be trains running for filming purposes in association with the Antiques Roadshow visit so no stock available.

    Unfortunately there will be another date later in the season where the Maybach running day is cancelled. <BJ>

    A lovely and immensely practical man, and one of the greatest 'critical friends' Railway preservation has had and ever will have, Major Olver. He was both extremely perceptive and very fair. That said, I have been very impressed by a number of HMRI/ORR people I have met over the years as well as Major Olver.

    Why is Wiliton not being used as a station for brewery at diesel gala? Given that you can change trains, watch passing trains, watch the diesel fleet from platform.

    I don't know the official reasons, but I can think of a couple:

    1) I assume you are thinking of having it in the yard where any 'trip hazards', eg rails, would be more likely to be found by people who have been drinking;

    2) It is next door to two workshops which are likely to be open to the public, where alcohol is banned, and, again, anyone who has been drinking is more likely to cause themselves harm!

    Also, the gardens at Stogumber are a much more pleasant place to have a rest!

    Put the bars on the trains. I'm sure there'd be more than enough volunteers to run them.

    In fact, the buffet with the open counter would be ideal for a bar.

    Is there a light engine move for D1010 2moro for readiness for 2moro, or it already at BL?

    But the same ales and ciders from a cask or polybin are even better.

    I wonder if there will be a special souvenir one brewed for the FS visit? Could be a nice little earner!

    Unfortunately quite impractible on a moving vehicle.
