Was it a physical touch or a water stream, I wonder? This extreme crop of the loco at West Byfleet seems to show water streaming onto the juice rail immediately beneath the cab.

Thanks. That area does seem to be jinxed somewhat of late, nevertheless.

Also held outside Eastleigh to allow a Cross Country service to overtake and two SWR services to pass.

Is there a problem with todays Tornado excursion? RTT showing no action on the return run due off Swanage at 16.20.

The path is so slack - two hours 40 from WOK to BMH - you could almost walk to Bournemouth in the time. Nice to see Tornado on cruise control though.

Thanks. I wondered if that was the case although the Swanage services are appearing with live data updates when you check all operations at Swanage.

Yes I know their own services do. When Tornado was on the inbound to Swanage earlier there was no update after Worgret Junction.
It's now currently passing Wareham so back on network rails.

RTT shows it off Swanage on time but 10 late at Wareham. Hoping it doesn't lose its path further up as a result.

RTT now showing 11 down on arrival at BMH, but 15 down on departure. Let's hope it can make that up somehow and give both the passengers and the linesiders a treat!

That would be nice, but, according to a comment here earlier, regaining 10 minutes of lost time between, say, Basingstoke and Farnborough is nothing out of the ordinary, so perhaps won't be noticed by passengers or line-siders. As it's already lost another 5 mins after leaving Bournemouth it doesn't look likely at the moment. 20 late at Christchurch. RTT is showing odd things at Bomo with the ECS having arrived at p4 but the train then leaving from p3! Edit - 24 late now! Is RTT to be believed at the moment I wonder?

Couple of things to clarify from posts above.
RTT and Swanage Railway trains - as I understand it there is a system on the railways own trains that allows them to update to RTT which would not be available to Tornado and her train.

RTT can only report on the info it gets from the National Railway system and it is generally pretty good though it does have the odd moment every now and then.. The arrival into Platfom 4 at Bournemouth is quite feasible if my memory and reading of the maps is correct. There is a crossover from the up line to the down line prior to the station which would bring the train into Platform 4. Platform 3 is a continuation of Platform 4 and effectively they are one platform split into 2 by signalling sections. So the train would pass through from Platform 4 to 3 and hence the detail shown.

    Hope that helps a bit

It certainly does, but RTT did show it leaving Swanage at 1620 (on time). I wouldn't expect any intermediate reports from the SR. I wonder what happened on the SR to present it 10 late at Wareham. Thanks for the detail on Bomo.

From photos seen on Swanage Railway Twitter they left the stock at Norden for servicing and Tornado ran with support coach only to Swanage Can only assume few minutes delay coupling up at Norden ??
