'Tangmere' on her way from Weymouth to Bristol, for Tomorrow's 'Seaside Express', at Maiden Newton (19:15 to 19:45) and Holywell, just before Evershot Tunnel at 20:06.

So what will haul the Torbay Express? Will WCRC allow TBEL/DBS to use their loco? <BJ>

34067 Tangmere away from Bristol TM on time at 08:51. Three small wheel slips quickly controlled.
Stock: 6 maroon coaches and 3 green. Two maroon coaches appear to be straight out of the paint shops.

Update: The train arrived at Frome on time for a drink of water. <BJ>

71000 Duke of Gloucester is doing the TE next week. 70000 is operated by both WCRC and DBS so no problems there.

Thanks for the update but I was thinking more of the chances of Tangmere working the TE rather than Britannia. <BJ>

Climbing to Evershot Tunnel in a seasonal(!) rain shower, at 12:30, with slight slip, quickly controlled.

We were near Evershot but my photo proved to be rubbish, and I ended up ankle down in mud. Try get decent shot on her way back up but may stick closer to home.

It seems your fears were misplaced as she seemed to do ok today in the wet.

Twenty-two down leaving Weymouth, but only ten down at Stratton (photo from public crossing!), and right time at Evershot!

WCRC own 34067 so are unlikely to let a competitor use it, 70000 as privately owned and air braked, goes where the money is on offer.

Thankfully yes. I saw the train depart from Bristol TM and was impressed with how the driver controlled the slips. <BJ>

I'm not sure whether Tangmere's actual ownership is in the public domain. My understanding is that the (majority) owner is a close friend and/or business partner of David Smith. Therefore, she is effectively a WCRC loco, and so it's highly unlikely that she will be booked for a DBS-operated train, though not totally impossible.
