So we still don't know what'll be working the NWCE then if 70013 is heading to Bristol ? Still shown as a runner on UK Steam but then it is still only Tuesday as a type this.

I suppose it could be 60009 as she went back out for a second LE test run last night? I think she is OK in terms of gauging but not sure? Quite annoyed I chose to visit Weymouth last weekend, 70013 would've been much more impressive!

I didn't know 60009 was out for a second LE run last night. Let's hope she passed. if so its the loaded version tomorrow right ?

I'm sure "Number 9" has worked the NWCE route before but I know that means nothing in terms of gauging. In an ideal world I'd like to see her place swapped with 70000 this Sunday to allow Britannia to spread some of her current magic further north but we all know that can't happen sadly.

Oliver Cromwell is still in London, Correct?

Going London to Bristol, Powering the Weymouth Seaside Train, this coming Sunday and then heading to Crewe would work.
60009 can do the NWCE if ready.

That would prevent two locomotives doing to light engine moves. Having 70013 London-Bristol-Crewe makes more sense just to me.

Would the point of 70013 moving light engine to Crewe from Bristol be for the purpose of powering The Scarborough Flyer on 27 July ? I presume thats planned to happen already. I don't see how it helps the NWCE if 60009 isn't ready as 70013 is now powering the WSE the same day. Have I missed something here ?

70013 may be booked to haul the Scarborough Flyer, but even if 60009 isn't ready for the NWCE then 45305 will probably step in to fill the gap.

I think you will find 46233 doing the Flyers.

Just to throw another hat into the ring - 60019 aka 4464 is due to do the Dorset Coast Express down leg on Thursday and will be at Yeovil after that before next weeks return DCE. Could they do the same as they have done with Tangers this last couple of weeks?? and run her to Bristol for the Sunday trip - Just a thought! DH

Which Sunday trip are we talking about ? This Sunday (22/07) is booked to 70013, and the Sunday after that there is no WSE. It's a Royal Duchy instead from Bristol to Par and return. Are we saying the RD could be booked to 4464 ? There's also no Torbay Express on 29/07 so presumably 70000 will still be at Bristol BH, (which WCRC operate I believe ?), and available to operate the RD if required ?

Nah, i think that would be Tangmere, as it's from a pool of 34046, which is not ML certified yet, 5029, which is still being fixed at Tyseley, and 34067, which is free.

So why would anybody want to move 4464 from Yeovil to Bristol as suggested by DH34105 below ? That's what I'm curious about.

Sorry! I assumed that as this thread was originally about the WSE that I was referring to that trip. Forgot that other trips have come into the the reckoning
I was talking about the WSE and it appeared that from the location of Bittern at Yeovil after this Thursday that using her on the WSE could be an option. Bittern is gauged from Weymouth to Yeovil so guess that she is ok for rest of route?? As I said just a thought - if Ollie is out and about I may try and slip out for a couple of hours on a ratrher busy Sunday for me. DH

Just like the old days;never too sure about what's going to turn up. At least we aren't likely to find a North British D61xx on the front instead of the expected A4, as happened to me once in the summer of 1966 at Aberdeen!

Yes, that would have been good but I think 70013's appearance is already a "done deal" Maybe another time.

I don't think 4464 can work between Yeovil and Bristol. I was chatting to a couple of guys at Upwey station last week who thought the same, so is unlikely to run the WSE.
