Look at Google maps and street view. I do not think it is a road although it looks like one.

@free2grice; Steamage has the spot exactly; in the field immediately south of what is marked as a building on the OS map, and is actually a (derelict?) barn. The map shows the footpath crossing the line (red dashes) where I have included the stile. I have excluded the radio mast, immediately left of the stile!!!!!

Thanks very much for your help everyone. It's good to see a location that isn't running through an endless avenue of trees. <BJ>

I'll look out for a gallery in that field then on Sunday, that's what usually happens when someone posts directions to a location on here,at least in my experience anyway,go to a location one week and be alone, link it on here and then find a gallery there the next!!

8 coaches arrived at Bristol this afternoon for the WSE tomorrow. All maroon stock except a green Mk.2 at the end.
If the support coach is added to the train it will be in chocolate and cream. If a diesel is added it will be a class 47. <BJ>

It certainly did Chris. Saltford (Pixash Lane) and Upton Noble also very nice.
As I was in the area I visited Nunney Castle .....the original castle. Well worth a visit. <BJ>

Yes it is still out of action - just back from Bath and West Showground and the event organisers have been having to advise of the diversion - likely to be in place for 19 weeks I heard - only recently started. Diversion signed via A37.

Train up and over Bincombe bank ok. Looked and sounded good.

However at least three plonkers over the line side fences including one near Bincombe Tunnel mouth who was near the cutting edge and had he slipped would have been injured by the fall. Why do it and put tours in danger? Also someone else had driven a car up the private road despite the big notices. This does not help!

In case anyone who knows me says but I saw you and you were in the field - Yes I was in the cow field BUT I have permission from the farmer obtained years ago.

Sounded great through Upwey, some plonker on the station thought that they could hear a double chimneyed Brit coming.

Another good run for Nunney Castle it appears. Well done to all concerned. Very nice weather for the passengers.

It's rather ironic that 47.237 that brought the stock from Southall to Bristol 0n Saturday has been declared a failure.
47.245 ran from Southall to Bristol yesterday afternoon to drag the dead 47 and stock back to Southall. See the post below from LH.
''47245 down Keynsham 2016 with 0Z47 Southall-Bristol''. (It must have been following the steam charter). <BJ>

Was there a reason (other than perhaps photographers paying for on/off variety) for the reporting numbers NOT being on the smokebox frame for the return run. Not a complaint just an observation that they were on when I saw it at Dorchester in the morning and off at Bincoombe in the evening.

So Ollie is apparently doing the Weymouth this weekend. I hope she puts on a show because Nunney has been stunning on both the Torbay and Weymouth Seaside expresses the last 2 weeks.

A le move post that 70013 shall be moving to Bristol this Saturday.

With a posted LE move on Saturday for Ollie on uksteam.info , I believe she shall be the power this weekend. I must admit that I love everything that 5029 Nunney Castle has been doing since the ban was lifted. The last 2 weekends performances have been stunning.

Oliver Cromwell certainly put on a good show earlier this month on the Weymouth Seaside Express. That's one hell of an engine. <BJ>
