On the Cambrian line between Newtown and Caersws, its the former junction station for the Llanidloes line. Some buildings remain in industrial use but not the station, platform edge can be traced. Nice pix.

Moat Lane Junction was on The ex Cambrian Line from Shrewsbury to Aberystwth. It had its own station and locoshed, which was a sub shed of Oswestry. The station was situated between Newtown and Caerws stations. The other line from the Junction went through Llanidloes to Three Cocks Junction and on to Brecon.

Moat Lane was on the Cambrian. A junction between Newtown and Caersws where a line went south to Rhyader and Builth Wells etc.

So a perfectly normal place for a Dukedog to be.

In the early 60's there was a campaign by some of the locals to rename Three Cocks Junction because it was a bit rude (and named after a pub). BR solved the problem by closing the whole line.
