    Hello,

Well the question is in the title really! Who could provide diesel locomotive contract restoration? I'm looking for a BR Class 08 fully restored complete with vacuum braking. Any suggestions or offers would be appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Alex

Rather depends what you want to pay and what sort of job you want doing. There are a number of commercial firms (such as HNRC) that would do the job for you. Also the SRPS Diesel Group have been known to carry out contract jobs and doubtless others would be willing to tender.

Andrew Goodman - Moveright International limited is selling his 08 (08881)...complete and a runner but as a faulty Auxiliary Generator. I remember it running on the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway only recently? or was it last year? (time goes too quick!).....and it performed faultlessly when i sampled it.

    Hi David,

Thank you for your suggestion. I contacted Rail Restorations but sadly they don't have the facilities to undertake this work. Thanks once again, keeps those suggestions coming!

    How about:

    Boden Rail Engineering, Washwood Heath

    LH Group Services, Barton-under-Needwood, Staffs

Great Eastern Traction, Great Hardingham, Norfolk

(I have no connection to any of the above)

25313 from Wensleydale? I heard the cabs were being dispatched there for major attention. An image of the first one completed (after refitting) is here.

Yes, would agree that Boden Rail Engineering would be worth a shot. Neil Boden has an excellent reputation for his work and has been working on a few '08s' and '09s' recently, so has form for the type of work you want doing. HNRC is another that has an excellent reputation, but I think they also have a bulging order book with other contract work. Plenty of places to do the work for those that have the cash. Good luck with it.
