I notice steam from the left-hand side briefly at about 18 seconds on the first clip. I surmise the driver opening and closing the drain cocks in the hope that those on the right-hand side might manage to close, without success that time though they are closed in the later clips.

A trip with a pair of jubilees would be good, but those early in the New Year suffer from a lot of the distance being after dark.

All usual comments about it only being a coat of paint and its the owners prerogative accepted but this livery really doesn't suit Leander in my view. Good to see her back in steam though.

Each to their own, but personally, I think she looks the Mutts! :)

    Makes a nice change.

It could be that wcr has worked out that the first jubilee pairing is a premium offering better promoted as in-house train. When the January train was announced perhaps it was thought the pair would have already worked together.

Possibly, but seeing the majority of wcr workings are promoted via rtc, you would have thought they would be fully aware of any previous 2 jub workings, and I would expect they would have consulted wcr about availability.

Good to see she's been fitted with Mr Stanier's patent leaf blower, given the time of year ;)

The alternative conclusion is that there is some cause to doubt whether 45699 will be available. Surely the transformation into green 45562 won't take 3 months?!!

PR2285.jpeg At mention of 45562 I thought this was worth showing again. Gone but not forgotten Paul Riley we still salute you. 45562 at Dillicar troughs on the Border Countryman. Februry 67 I think cant find it on Sixbells Jcn.

Yes. I think she took the train from Carlisle to Beatock and back and reached a speed somewhere in the high 80's, which was the highlight of the day as 45562 wasn't in the best of health.

Is there any chance I could ask you to post any gen you have on here? http://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/ not connected with the site but there dosn't seem to be any gen on that tour on there. Some of us born in 1984 can only dream of what tours were like before Black Boxes, OTMR etc!

Matt, I've sent info about tours to that site in the past and not had a reply or any sort of acknowledgement, and the info I've sent has not appeared on the site. So I've given up with them. Maybe someone else could try?
