Will we see LMS 5690 in 2014?

Just did some google research (trust warning), but suggested 3 jubilees (Ceylon, Bellerphron and Victoria) carried this livery.

No image, but this one of a Patriot gives the idea

And that fabulous, and erst while never repeated mainline model.

I believe Color-Rail has the shot of 45694 Bellerophon standing in St Pancras station as one of its catalogued images.

Now that's a livery I'd like to see!

I meant "change of livery" - the only identity change being 5690 to 45690. Still, we'll have to see what comes out of Carnforth. If the owner/owning group is short of ideas, the last few posts have certainly provided some food for thought!

Just to confirm Admin's post above, Whiteley and Morrison in " The Power of the Jubilees" quote that 45565, 45604, and 45694 were painted in light green livery, fully lined in red, grey and black, with pale straw insignia.

PS: John: Maybe it depends on Mr Smith's favourite...?

I think it will be the owners decision as to the livery Leander carries, not Mr Smiths.

Oops sorry, of course Leander is not part of Mr Smith's fleet.

    Freudian slip....

Still I think history would judge favourably if this unique livery made a brief return !

I'm starting to doubt whether Leander shall return to the mainline this year. Sharing Fellsman duties with the K4 looks like the most viable possibly. Anyone else?

Since the owner now works in York what about the Scarborough Flyer - or that other potential service - the NRM shuttles between York and Shildon which are often discussed but rarely seem to pass beyond the planning stage(s).

Why do you say that? There is no hard news either way to base a sensible judgement on.

The financials for The Jubilee Locomotive Co. Ltd. have looked poor in recent years (Chris Beet, director) but hopefully there are other funding streams.

It would seem RTC thinks otherwise from their e-mail re. The GB VII that they sent out this morning:

"The steam locomotives confirmed for this year are 34046 Braunton, 70000 Britannia, 5029 Nunney Castle, 45699 Galatea, 45690 Leander, 70013 Oliver Cromwell, 46233 Duchess of Sutherland, 60009 Union of South Africa, K1 2-6-0 62005 and two Black 5's 45407 and 44871."

    It's only February!

Is this the same Great Britain that regularly has Royal Scot rostered to a leg ?.

I've heard that the boiler is back in the frames so I would imagine we will see her at some point this year.

And the same RTC that stated that 5972 would be heading to America?
