Great stuff in bad conditions from the lineside and good to see trains you are actually on. A job videoing from the train a lot of the interesting bits because of the snow soon soaking the lens. Conditions on board were very cosy, thank god but the downside was condensation which meant a constant battle with tissues in order to see anything of the S&C. A ten minute delay getting away from Appleby because of thankfully solvable brake problem was gadually clawed back but not untill it had grown to twenty. All in all an interesting day out with loco obviously in fine shape.

I have tread carefully on that one, That Soviet Republic of Yorkshire locomotive will be pulling me around Cumbria this weekend, though I will be bringing the Army with me for protection when we reach the Yorkshire borderlands on the return.. (Admin and the Moderators) :).. Does this sound more like a band ?

We have learned from last year however... and John Smith may be left behind and replaced with something more appropriate.

Don't worry, seeing as I clearly failed in my mission to poison all you off-cumdens with it, it's since been kept in special reserve for for visits by the mother-in-law :fear:.

So you're not joining us on Saturday, Sheff?

The mods have already been discussing beverages - unfortunately the bottle of "Chateau Carnforth 1968" has already been drunk. But I'm sure a replacement will be found.

Eau De Thames -2013 hasn't been written out, served up with Cadburys Caviar, and a shot from Brixton.

Isnt this going a little off topic - maybe the moderators should continue their discussion elsewhere?

It's not off topic, it is discussing this weekends CME. :), which also happens to be the moderators annual picnic.

point taken however, the humour will remain away from the public, however on Saturday we will be mods on the move from the train, pop in and say hello if your onboard... We will save some a drop of the Thames's finest for you.

If any of you are on tomorrow's trip, do come along to Coach J and say hello.

If you're lucky, we'll give you a demonstration of how five mods can ban the same member at the same time, using various mobile phones and an Ipad.
