    Bunch of reprobates...

I would have been there today but a bit of an incident at home caused me to have to cancel so Sheff has at least made use of the ticket, not sure if he is pleased with me or not having to put up with them lot

I nipped along to Preston this morning and at least got to see them off.

Enjoy your short break in Carlisle and good to hear it has gone well so far.

    Neil.

Horrified to see a can of John Smiths on the table. What sort of 'beer' is that? A bottle of Sam Smiths o. k. but a tin of that gassy chemical, I can see I am going to have to send Victor to sort you out and educate you!

I knew something would go wrong without me being there to look after them.

There's a Home and Bargain shop about 4 mins from the station in Carlisle and they usually have a choice of half a dozen decent bottled ales in there at reasonable prices so they can go and get some proper beer in the short break they have.

Lets just hope they all manage to get back on the train ok... :rolleyes1:

Just one photo from Preston of 45305 waiting for the tour to arrive from Euston,

Finally got home, thawed out and posted some pictures from Barrow ( just after Whalley) and on the approach to Selside - just started to snow in both locations and was sticking on the road at Selside.

We shall need to see photographic proof of this group with real ale on the return run before even thinking about any pleas of mitigation such as this!

Twas deathly cold up there today, blizzard in parts. ( was good being on a warm train, as even 2 minutes at the window fingers were getting numb)

As suspected - black as a witch's tit up in the hills! unlike last week!

Happier here transcribing photos from 1988 five feet from a coal fire and with the dogs keeping me company - and begging sustenance!

We cant reveal the identity of the smiths drinker, we would need to ban him for his own safety, and we would have no water or pies.

As late substitute PICOP for this trip, I discharged my duties with honour. One by one the mods fell by the wayside until just Richards and I struggled over the last slice. Foolishly I assumed one of the mods would be PICOB, but none was forthcoming and I was forced into dredging out my emergency ration of JS to tide me over til Carlisle, where upon I fell upon Dent Brewery ale like a man possessed.
