I might have fared better east of Reading, the cutting here was just a little too deep. Then it was gloomy at Taplow, so one of those days when you don't know what to expect. Great to see 6201 in full flight though.

Loving the effects the cold weather has had on the pics so far, very atmospheric, nice job guys.

    Like the smokescreen at Purley

Finding a location with the light anywhere near right and high enough to illuminate the loco was difficult, so I went back to Grintleyhill bridge near Combe and repeated the shot I took of 70013 in October as I thought I could make a better job of it with a lower sun.

Passed Cheltenham a couple late at 16:42.
Ten minutes earlier would have been nice :(

Good work there Steve. That's a spot that would look good in any season.

    Thanks

I think it suits autumn/winter better with less foliage. Pity I missed all the autumnal colours

Excellent sound on Sapperton in glorious still winter evening conditions with just a hint of twilight remaining - on time - Diesel doing nothing.
Unfortunately I messed up the video in the darkness so cant share.

60163 flew past 6201 at Swindon at 18:02, probably hitting 75 - simply incredible!

What a piece of luck! I stop off back at Swindon to see 60163 pass, before catching the next HST to Didcot. It was quite fortunate then, that 60163 was almost 25 minutes late and 6201 was on time, and just after Lizzie rolled in, the centre road signal went to green, and 60163 raced through, whistling all the way to 6201.

    This was spectacular...

The link is here, and I will post the links to the other videos from the day as soon as I possibly can: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weH1je6sDfk

Here is my offering from today's trip seen at three locations, Cholsey in the mist, Lyneham and an epic performance up Sapperton in the dark. Just gutted I didn't know Tornado was running late otherwise I would have gone straight to Swindon Station right after Sapperton to see her pass Lizzie :(

Here are the two videos from yesterdays chase. I had a great day out with a number of friends, and hope these videos are a good indication of what happened throughout the day. Normally, I would combine the two videos into one full video, but my computer's hard drive hasn't got enough memory to support a 17 minute video!

The link to the 6201 video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXEsiDHHRn4&list=UL
The link to the 60163 video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5GBv-ljNK0

Enjoy, and as ever, comments are appreciated.
