Does anyone happen to know what caused 9351 to be declared a failure at Williton on 5th August, and the line closed temporarily?
Loco appears to be back in use today.

    Thanks

  2. My (unofficial) understanding is:
    A) No 9351 suffered a hot box (which may take some time to remedy). I wasn't aware the loco was in use today (88, 34046, 4160, D6566 and the DMU only?)
    B) The Fire Brigade requested the line be shut to enable them to effectively deal with a nearby fire.

    Thanks Steve.

I think I looked at an ( unamended) loco roster.

No I do not currently volunteer
    Sunday: 9351 replaced by 4160.

As the Torbay Express was diesel hauled today, I noticed that some of the participants declined to
travel and opted to join me for a ride behind West Country class Braunton instead. Very sensible. <BJ>

And as a Bulleid fanatic, I can only concur with the sensible nature of that decision! Hope you enjoyed you trip behind her- she certainly makes some noise on Washford Bank...

Just a shame it's not a proper Bulleid. Still an improvement on that Swindon stuff though. :)
