Is 60163 hauling the Belle at all?

  4. We rather hope the Quantock Belle restaurant car will operate throughout Tornado's Saturday diagram. We are still waiting for Special Events Planning Team to confirm the necessary shunting arrangements that would make this possible. On both Friday and Sunday we are expecting the QB to be diesel hauled.

As soon as SEPT reply to us the detailed QB workings will be posted here.

    Regards,

    Barrie

Or if there are enough of you, in the same position, join forces for a taxi from BL? You could ask on this website if anyone else has the same problem.

A Sunday morning trip from Minehead behind steam is a grand experience. Some years ago, I did that, then in Taunton joined a Torbay Express behind No. 9 'Union of South Africa' down to Kingswear. Memorable!

I see that the Warship was under test this weekend on the WSR. Let's hope we might see it over the mixed traffic weekend.

    Hello to all, [smilie=hi ya!.gif]
I have just added a twelve photo collection of the "New Construction" Peppercorn development Pacific Class A1 4-6-0 60163 TORNADO as she hauled the "Severn Coast Express" made up of ten coaches, plus her support coach and a Type 67 diesel 67002 on the rear, into Bishops Lydeard on the West Somerset Railway, on the early evening of Saturday 30th.May.2009. Here she stopped off to take on water before continuing on to Minehead and to start her two week "Guest" apperance on the WSR.

The sound of TORNADO as she pulled the train away from Bishops Lydeard, I can only describe as "awesome".
WSR are really onto a crowd pulling apperance of this locomotive, and good luck to them.:smt023 I shall be revisiting during the next two weeks, thats for sure.

So please visit my site and hopefully enjoy. :smt038 Link here http://preservedrailwaylocomotivephotos ... topic.net/

    Best regards SteamHawk216.

PS While I was at Bishops Lydeard I was chatting to a chap, I think he was the tall, grey bearded gent in the video, who advised me to use this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBBK2hjcPuA to You Tube for a amusing bit of steam locomotives enthusiasts experience in "trying" to get a good look at this piece of history the A1 60163 TORNADO. If you haven't viewed this link, it is worth it to see others mis-fortune. LOL. [smilie=to funny.gif] Bye for now. :smt006

Any idea if there are plans to turn 60163 during running on the WSR? I'm visiting Sunday to ride behind this loco and would like to get some photos later in the day - is it still facing Minehead, and if so is it likely to remain that way?

Yes Mighty Mogul Tornado is still facing Minehead, took some great photos of her today, will be travelling on Saturday, they will have to turn her somehow before the return Charter, not sure about on the turntable,
