Suprised there's not more phots yet considering the conditions and people about at Bescot, DB/Riveira really do need to address that shambles of a rake mind, if i was general public i woulden't be too impressed with a tatty MK1/2 rake with FIVE different liveries (Blood n Custard, Blue n Cream, Maroon , Choc n Cream & All over Blue), attracting non enthusiasts is all about presentation, a well looked after uniform rake (colour is irrelevant) would help no ends.

I think today, whether the heating and (by now) lighting work might be more important that uniform external appearance to passengers! That said, the exterior does of course form the first impression but thread-bare seats, dirty floors and toilets and non-working heating and lighting will make the greater long term impression, especially on the fairer sex if they have been "dragged" along.

I think the condition of coaching stock is a big issue in the steam business generally, mainline and heritage railways - locos are a vital ingredient and make the "business" but the fact the paying passengers travel in the coaches should never be forgotten.

Thanks Stuart, praise from you is praise indeed...
Yes its a location that I have used before, but that time there was a stopper only just ahead so no effort. This time being about 10 minutes down meant that they would just catch it at Crewe.

Ah I've found the problem, I uploaded the edited clip as a test and it was set to private viewing, now on public. This is the direct link, the one Toni posted is the original full length version.

Very nice glennr - low angle and lighting hides the mixed coaching stock nice and produces a spectacular shot!
