As there appears to not be a section to descuss the K&ESR, i would start one , The railway is i believe on the cusp of a change that will bring about massive change both internally and externally i am of course talking about the possible mainline link to the national network .
So far we have had the ethos of being a small engine, vintage coaches line , whilst at the same time running A 5 coach MK 1 set that requires larger engines .
We have seen some very welcome additions...

I cant see a thread based upon the North Yorkshire Moors Railway generally on the forum, or at least one thats been updated recently so I thought that I would start one based upon thsi discussion that is ongoing on the B1 61264 thread. A lot of the discussion there has focused upon the Whitby steamings, which the B1 would be part of, but also the thread is made up of postings which are both interesting and informative.
Given other updates to the railway, such as the signal gantry being...
Frequent picture reports may be found at http://www.wsr.org.uk. Thought i'd startup an embsay railway thread, so hopefully for those of us on here that don't have social media can find out what's going on & keep up to date with the railway's goings on.

I visited about 2wks back now for the 3rd or 4th time & found it as usual 1 of the top friendliest preserved lines i've visited. Thought it'd be best to split this thread into 3 maybe 4 different parts, namely loco department news, rolling stock & infastructure/expansion & signalling....
One question...What is the status of the Hotchley Hill signal box renovation?

Among the jobs to be undertaken are a refurbishment of the Swanage station canopy, re-roofing of Swanage goods shed, construction of a new workshop for the Locomotive Carriage and Wagon departments and the...
